Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

If you are like most people, you wash up before attending a special event, such as a church service, wedding, birthday party,....you get the point. We want to look our best for the event and out of respect for the people who are being honored.

Today's verse encourages us to clean up our lives for God. Although we are riddled with sin, the blood of Christ washes us of the condemnation we so rightly deserve. But that doesn't exclude us from doing our part. In a world full of worldly pleasures, it can be difficult to separate yourself from them, but God provides His Holy Spirit to give you the strength and encouragement to say “NO” to sin, so you can honor God's Son, by your faithfulness and commitment to Him.

Does your life truly represent the character of Christ? Ask Him to help you stay unspotted from the world (James 1:27) so your life can shine brightly the light of Christ into this dark world.
