Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

 Food allergies can cause serious problems for certain people, that’s why on many food packages you’ll read something like this: “This product is made in the same facility that has eggs, milk, peanuts”. If you have an allergy to any of these, there is a potential they could cross contaminate with the food you plan to eat, and will make you very sick, maybe even cause death. One of the biggest food allergies today is gluten and many people I know become very sick if it’s in any of the food they eat.

 Wrongdoing, or sin, starts in the mind. A thought develops in the mind to do something wrong or against God’s standards. It seems to grow and when you think about it often; it’s like watering a plant, you are literally nourishing that thought, and eventually it turns to action. But it doesn’t stop there, from the action, it might easily become a habit, which in turn influences your character. Your character is who you are, it’s how you interact with the world, it’s how you behave, and it impacts the lives of those around you, and people form their opinions about you by how you live your life.

 If you struggle with evil thoughts, sinful thoughts, or battle addictions, let today’s verse be an encouragement for you to fill your mind with the good things of God. Satan will try his best to whisper those negative and sinful thoughts, but when you have a mind filled with biblical scripture, he stands no chance of influencing you to do wrong.
