For the eyes of the
Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; But the face
of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3:12
You know that look, that
look of anger and disappointment on your parent’s face when you did something
wrong as a youngster. If you are like me, you knew something painful was about
to happen, such as a good spanking or feelings of guilt and shame from
wrongdoings. Your immediate response is to flee the scene, so you can
momentarily avoid the punishment that’s coming. Can you relate?
The last thing God
wants for His creation is for them to run in fear of Him. He created you (and
mankind) out of compassion and love. He wants you to draw near to Him. But one
thing is for certain, He does not tolerate sin, because it puts distance
between you and Him. As a child of God, you have His Holy Spirit living inside
you, and when you mess up, you should feel that sense of guilt, which is
designed to draw you back into His graces. Thankfully He provides a special
kind of grace and mercy no human could ever share with another. It covers every
trespass: past, present and even future.
You can be assured,
God is watching over you and sees your every move, your every thought, and
emotion. Choosing to please Him will result in God’s blessings for your life.
Your prayers will be heard and He will respond appropriately. Walk in the way
of the Lord and your life will be more fulfilling and blessed with the promises
of God.
