Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14
The other day I saw
a post where someone was unable to move ahead in life because of their past. Consumed
by past failures and anxieties, this desperate person was held captive and
appeared to have no forward vision. What an awful state to be in, especially when
life has so many opportunities, just waiting to be explored.
Does this sound
familiar in your life? I too have had times when I was unable to move forward because
of past mistakes or concerned about what others might say or think. Let me
offer you an idea on this matter. Learning from your mistakes, to make better
choices tomorrow, is the only way you will dig yourself out of the pit. Having
a vision for how things should look, will provide a goal for the future. It gives
you something to focus your eyes upon, so you aren’t so concerned about what’s in
the rear-view mirror of life.
God never intended
for His children to be held captive by life’s failures or anxieties life
generates. The grace and mercy Jesus provided you at Calvary was enough to
break those chains so you can move forward in the life He’s called you to live.
Press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus;
it’s yours for the taking and God will bless you each step of the way moving
forward on the path of life! God bless!
