Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1
The Apostle Paul
wrote 1 Corinthians to the church of God, which was in Corinth. The main theme
of this letter was to encourage believers in Christ to live in the midst of a
corrupt culture, by living the example of Christ, just like Paul. Paul wrote, “imitate
me, just as I also imitate Christ”. A bold statement, but Paul was loyal to Jesus
Christ and his entire life was devoted to the One who transformed his life into
one of the most influential persons who modeled life after Christ.
If you had to
explain Jesus Christ to someone outside the faith, could you do it by how you
live? Would others see a difference in your life in comparison to those outside
the faith? As a child of God, people watch you to see how you react, how you live
your daily life by the actions you take, words spoken and interaction with
others.
Let the word of
Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another
in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to
the Lord. Colossians 3:16
The world needs to
see the grace, mercy and love of Christ. They need to see how living a life of
Christ sets them free from the bonds of sin’s slavery. The world needs to see
Jesus through your life. Will you be loyal to the One who saved you and is
transforming your life into His image? God bless!
