The name of the Lord
is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. Proverbs 18:10
Last year my wife
and I visited the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. If you’ve never been, it’s
an enormous and beautiful mansion that has 250 rooms, 35 bedrooms, 45 bathrooms,
and 65 fireplaces and is 175,000 square feet in size, equal to 4 acres. To
stand up against it, makes you look very small, and you feel overwhelmed by its
size. But, once inside, you see each room and understand their purpose, making
it much easier to digest the enormity of the largest home in America.
When faced with a crisis,
you probably come to God for help. But in the desperate cries for help, you
might feel your problems are insignificant to His Majesty and discredit what He
can do to help you. Sadly, many don’t understand the compassion God has for His
children and how involved He wants to be in their lives, including yours! From
an outside view of God, you might have difficulty relating to His personal
relationship He longs to have with you.
Let us therefore
come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to
help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Notice in Proverbs
18:10, it says the righteous run “INTO” it and are safe. It doesn’t say run to
it, it says run INTO it. Hebrews 4:16 encourages us to come boldly into the
throne of grace, so we can receive His mercy and help in time of need. Coming
to the Lord is one thing, but truly entering into His being will elevate your
prayers to His ear, giving you a better understanding of His will for you
during this time of crisis. Don’t let the enormity of God hold you back from
having a heart felt conversation about what concerns you. He’s right there with
you and longs to connect with you, providing you wisdom, mercy, and safety as
you walk in accordance to His perfect will. God bless!
