Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Ephesians 5:6
If you spend much
time on social media, you are well aware of the varying opinions and it seems
everyone has an answer to people’s problems. But the real question is, who to
believe? Some things you read and hear might sound logical and make sense to
you, but the words must be checked for validity if you want to lead yourself
down the right path.
People’s advice on
spiritual matters can really get foggy. I’ve heard so many ideas and beliefs
about God and what Jesus Christ did on earth, that makes me shake my head,
wondering how some can be so much “in the dark” on their understanding of the
gospel.
Beloved, do not
believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because
many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1
Satan does a good
job of creating confusion amongst people, even those who profess to be a
Christian can be misled. That is why it’s important to “test the spirits”. How?
By checking their words against the bible. If they don’t line up, it would be
very wise to spend less time listening to their advice, and put your focus in
God’s word. You’ll never go wrong when you seek after the wisdom of God.
Study the
scriptures, and pray for specific wisdom as you navigate life. Everyone has advice,
and some might sound good and to your liking, but the gospel truth will always lead
you to the way ever lasting. God bless!
