Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:5

One thing I enjoy doing is riding my motorcycle up to the Tennessee mountains. The twisty roads, beautiful scenery and meeting other people is a treat and brings me much joy. After riding a few days though I’m actually ready to get back home and rest. On the journey home there is one very long stretch of road, from Rome to Carrollton Georgia, that seems to take forever to pass through. I get easily distracted and want to stop at a McDonalds or a store just to break up the monotony.

There are periods of time in your Christian walk that will seem long and stagnant. You feel like life is taking you nowhere and you wonder when the next spiritual awakening will happen. During this time, it can be a struggle to keep your focus on the spiritual journey. This world can throw a lot of distractions at you and if you aren’t careful, you will run off course, ending up somewhere you never intended.

The one thing I’ve learned in life, keep trusting God, commit your way to Him always, even in the dry times of life. I encourage you to take this time to pray more often; communicating more frequently with the Father will help keep your focus on those long stretches of life and will ensure your spiritual compas is aligned with His will. Eventually you’ll get to your next mountain top experience, but you’ve got to stay committed to the journey if you want to get there without a spiritual wreck. Safe travels friend.
