Test all things; hold fast what is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21

 

Have you ever ventured into something with fear that it wont work out? Maybe it was a new job, a significant purchase or even a relationship. Its never good when you enter into something on shaky ground.

 

Today’s verse gives some great advice; test all things. How do you test something before getting into it? Its kind of like buying a car. The first thing you do is take it for a test drive. That drive lets you experience the vehicle without the obligation to buy. But the test ride is only good unless you really check everything out and spend time behind the wheel.

 

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him as of God, wo gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5

 

The best advice I can give is to pray for God’s direction and wisdom. Trust me, He cares about every detail of your life; purchases, agreements and relationships. He doesn’t want you to enter into something that will harm you. Sometimes His answer doesn’t come right away, so you MUST be patient until He gives you the wisdom you need to make the right decision. Sometimes clues to your answer come during the “wait” time, so don’t close your eyes while you wait for a solid answer.

 

God has the best in store for you, but you have to stay in tune with Him. Seek after His wisdom when making decisions in life and you will feel more confident in the decisions you make. God bless!
