The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11
Did you know that nearly
70% of your body is made up of water? Taking a closer look, your lungs are 83%,
brain and heart 73%, skin 64%, muscles and kidneys 79%. When you become dehydrated,
your body doesn’t work efficiently and eventually organs begin to shut down and
fail. That’s why its important to drink fluids to stay hydrated, especially
when you are sick so your body can function as it was designed.
How hydrated is your
spiritual life? As Christians, we need God’s guidance and wisdom to help us
make right choices, strength when times are tough and health when we are exposed
to the toxic things of this world. The only way to stay spiritually hydrated is
to thirst for God’s word by reading it daily, communicating with God through consistent
prayer and be health conscience with the things we allow to enter our life. This
world, and some people in it, can totally dehydrate your soul to the point your
spiritual health becomes sick and fails.
A good way to check
your spiritual health is to measure the fruits of the spirit in your life:
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness
and self-control Galatians
5:22-23. If these traits are lacking, maybe you need to change your source
of nourishment.
God needs a healthy
family. It all starts with YOU by taking in the goodness of His word and
maintaining a strong communications plan with the Savior so you can be ready to
give an account of your faith to others, 1
Peter 3:15. Stay spiritually hydrated friend! God bless!
