Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Matthew 6:1
It’s only natural to
want to be recognized when you do something good for someone else. Your
charitable deed usually will cost you either your time or money, or both, so it
only makes sense that your worthy investment has other people’s acknowledgement.
God sees it differently though, and His thoughts are stated in the words of Jesus
above. The question is why?
As a child of God,
you should give God all the glory. The fact is, He blessed you with the
abundance to provide to someone else, so it makes sense to give credit where
credit is due. And to take it one step further, God plans out your day and uses
you to bless others, therefore He most likely put that other person’s need in
front of you and moved your spirit to help. Does it seem more clearly now who’s
in charge of the charitable deed?
…and your Father who
sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. Matthew 6:4b.
God desires for His
children to open their lives to His plan to reach the world by sharing His rich
blessings of love, forgiveness and compassion. Your willingness to allow God
full control of your life will align you with metered blessings that will
overflow into the lives of others. God authors your charitable deeds, leave the
recognition up to Him and your reward will be great! God bless!
