So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him. Matthew 20:34
I find it interesting
that one of the last miracles Jesus performed before His death was giving sight
to two blind men as recorded in today’s passage. Was this just happen stance? I
don’t think so. The bible references the eyes as a lamp to the body. If the eye
is good, your whole body will be full of light (Matthew 6:22).
Sight is one of the
most important parts of the human body. It allows you to see where you are
going, take in the beautiful sights of this world and most of all it is the
doorway to your heart. What you permit your eyes to see, transforms your
thoughts. That is why its so important to read and take in the wisdom of God’s
word. It feeds the mind with lifesaving truths; it protects you from the
dangers of falsehood and most of all it shows you the love of God. The more you
read, the fuller your lamp oil becomes, keeping your light shining even in the direst
of times.
If you have sight,
thank God for His provision and use it wisely in this life so you can witness
the very things you have read and studied over the years. God bless!
