Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth
concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in
heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My name, I am there in the midst
of them.” Matthew 18:19-20
About a month ago our church received a grand piano. It was
replacing an old piano that had served its purpose for years. Following the
service most of the men gathered to help remove the old piano and carry in the
new grand. I can tell you the grand was extremely heavy and without the help of
8 men it wouldn’t have been moved that day. Teamwork always helps when the task
is too big for one person.
Jesus promised in this passage that where two or three are
gathered, He is in the midst of them. And what they pray for, He grants within
His will. I have seen this time and time again where the power of prayer
changes things. A wife after years of praying for her husband, sees a change in
him and he attends church with her; a rare cancer that inflicts someone and
when they go into the operating room doctors are stunned to find the cancer
completely gone; a group of missionaries protected, by angels, from a group of natives
intending to do harm that was summoned by a group of prayer warriors on the
other side of the planet. These true stories are great examples of what group
prayer can do.
Maybe you are facing something much bigger than you or a
burden so heavy has weighted you down. Its ok to ask for help from others to
cover your situation in prayer. Prayer changes things, especially when done by
many on your behalf. Trust me, ask and you shall receive God’s response. Get
that prayer chain going today! God bless!
