Then the Devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered
to Him. Matthew 4:11
If you’ve ever seen a boxing match you know after so many
minutes of fighting in the ring, there is a brief break in the fight and the
boxers go to their respective corner to get treated for injuries, given water
to rehydrate and advice for their next round. As a boxer, I’m sure they are glad
when that bell rings so they can have a moment to recover from the fight.
As Christians we too are in a fight against Satan’s
temptations and distractions. He oftentimes uses conflict and difficulty to throw
us a left hook. After a few good punches, that child of God needs some relief.
Thankfully, we don’t have to fight the battle on our own and we can step over
into the corner to pray for relief, wisdom and strength.
If you are a child of the King, you are fighting a fierce
battle. Satan’s goal is to keep His children down for the count. Don’t let him
get away with it. Stand up with the help of Jesus Christ, bind Satan in Jesus name
and reference scripture to push back the evil influences from your enemy. Jesus
was successful at fighting back against satan in the proceeding verses of
Matthew 4 when tempted. And never leave the corner of prayer too long. It’s a refreshing
place to be in this battle of righteousness! God bless!
