Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Corinthians 5:8

Have you ever tripped over something and fell down? Its quite embarrassing, especially if there is a crowd of people around. And most of the time the very thing you tripped over, you knew was there, but tripped anyways.

Our preacher made this comment in his sermon on Sunday, “don’t trip over yesterday.” In other words, those mistakes and sins of yesterday have no place today. When you carry forward the errs of yesterday, you mess up God’s plan to give you something new and refreshing. His blessings are tainted with the sin stains of yesterday. Why do that?

Easier said than done, I know. We all struggle with obedience on some level. Our attachment to the world and its pleasures is like an anchor of a ship. Its going no where as long as its dug into the bottom of the ocean. Time to pull up the anchor and sail towards sunnier skies and a better tomorrow.

Whats your anchor dug in to? Pray, asking God to help release you from the chains that bind and stain your witness for God. God has lined up some blessings for you today, are you ready to receive them with a clean plate? Stay the course, keep yesterday’s sins in the history books and remain obedient as you navigate life towards Heaven! God bless!
